We have driven by the Lime Tree on many occasions over the years. Previous we have not been able to get a room till now. Was it worth the wait? We think it was 😁. In particular with the Silly Goose restaurant being part of the hotel.
The room and hotel was up to the standard we would expect. Helpful, and lovely staff. Room was as just what we wanted, warm, cosy all the facilities we required.
When booking we discovered the Silly Goose, and that we could book at table. Might I say the brief details about the owners sold me on booking a table. Our experience of the restaurant was as good as any fine dining experience we have had anywhere in UK. Not just dinner the same delight for breakfast as well. We will be back if we can get room. This is now on our list of places to return to.

Chambre propre. La ventilation de la salle de bain est à revoir, elle est complètement inutile. L'humidité y stagne toute la nuit après la douche.
Aucune isolation entre les chambres et le couloir, on entendait tout les passages (heureusement les autres clients étaient discret).
Petit déjeuners continental très moyen.

Stayed and ate at the restaurant. Room was on the top floor. Very nice but a bit outdated. It was warm the night we stayed there but the room was a reasonable temperature and not too noisy with the windows open. Food was good. Ham hock appetizer was alright. Trout and mussel entree was fantastic.

Booked dinner for my wife's 50th. Our table was next to a dirty stained wall in a too brightly lit dining room. My side plate also had dirty black marks which I was able to rub off with my finger. Would be great if the staff checked the plates were clean before they placed them on the tables. There was a fruit fly constantly hovering around us. That was irritating. We had the pidgeon starter (v small, bland, cold), ribeye steak and chips, and beef cheek. I was expecting something high end - its supposed to be fine dining after all. The steak was well cooked but essentially basic pub standard with a thin sauce. The beef cheek was shredded and pressed into some sort of mold and served with overcooked carrots and broccoli and some sort of bog standard gravy. Not bistro, but may as well have been. Would not recommend, especially at the price. I can cook better.

Fantastic food at the Silly Goose. Lovely surrounds. Helpful and attentive staff without being intrusive. Strongly recommend the trout!! If I am ever in Fort William again, I will be back

We enjoyed our stay at the lime tree hotel. Staff is friendly and helpful with our needs. The rooms are very nice and clean. Breakfast was included and very good. Excellent location if taking the Jacobite train, it was maybe a 10-15 minute easy walk to the station. Will be recommending this location.

the room was beautiful with a view of the loch. Lots of space, even in the bathroom. We had an exquisite dinner in the restaurant. BUT: the minimalistic breakfast was really pathetic, as other reviews have already criticized, burnt pastries, empty fruit bowls, etc.
Why? Your service and the chef were so good the night before!!
On the day of departure, no shower possible as there was hardly any water pressure due to construction work; annoying.
You could be so much better!!!

We visited the town for 2 days and we were tired of traveling the silly goose restaurants inside the like tree hotel in Fort William was recommended we book table we went for dinner we were met by beautiful staff her name is Robyn she was absolutely professional and delighted and extremely kind she was amazing host
The food is next level delicious and high quality and amazing presentation I can’t stop thinking about the food there excellent evening excellent service excellent food highly highly recommended to go and check it out all the thanks for Robyn and the amazing kitchen team for their hard work and dedication

We had a great room with bay windows overlooking Loch Eil. Breakfast was cooked to order and complimentary. Dinner was also available at the same restaurant with great views of the loch. The gardens are nicely landscaped. The location is within a two minute walk from the high street
